Presentation Description:
Substance use in the perinatal period is a common and highly stigmatized public health issue. Though substance use in this period poses known risks for both mother and child, there are significant barriers that make it difficult for this population to seek out and access the care they need. This presentation will summarize what we know about perinatal substance use and the unique needs of this population, as well as explain current research in home visitation settings that seeks to overcome some of these barriers to care.
