The Public Health in Action Committee strategizes and creates opportunities for NYSPHA members to engage in direct public health practice. This may include volunteer opportunities, partnerships with other organizations and agencies, and providing leadership, assistance, and support to advance public health priorities. Committee members raise awareness of NYSPHA among key stakeholders in the public health field, the work of the committee, and how they can support stakeholders in achieving their goals. Once partners are engaged, they work with those partners to advance specific areas of public health. Through the work of this committee and the multiple projects that are developed, membership participation and internship and practicum opportunities are created. So, if you're a member interested in getting involved or a student looking for an internship or practicum, please reach out to committee chair Brett Harris at President@nyspha.org.
