Join us for this informative workshop and training session where you will learn about the scope of the SUD/OUD crisis and the science of addiction. Attendees will learn the importance of establishing recovery resource centers in every county and the importance of establishing Recovery Supportive Workplace Programs that include prevention, access to treatment and recovery resources, and reform of punitive policies. Each attendee will be given information on local naloxone training.
This session will be a VIRTUAL format and includes CHES/CPH credits. It is offered to all attendees for $25.

Who should attend:
Public health educators, county health department staff, health care, education, aging, mental emotional behavioral health, governmental, community-based, students and organizational leaders.
Introductions, overview of the plan for the day, use of the activity worksheet, etc. Poll where people are from and what they do. Pre-test.
Small Group Activity: includes activity: 1) where do you work, 2) what do you do? 3) participant concerns and experiences, which will be done in small group activity.
Science of addiction, landscape of recovery
10-minute break around 3 PM
Workplace Risk Factors and Solutions: Stigma and mental health, activity, and mental health risk factors activity. Prevention of injuries, illnesses, and stressors that can lead to pain treatment and substance use. NIEHS WTP training and resources.
Closing: Resources, action ideas from participants, recommendations from instructors. Post-test.
